Day 13: Share the love

I love cupcakes.  I confess I even had a cupcake tasting party to try out the various cupcakerys and figure out which one I liked the best. The winner: Georgetown Cupcake, hands down.  I  don't think any thing elicits a bigger smile than receiving an unexpected Georgetown Cupcake.  Saanya and I spread some serious smiles today.  We took boxes of Georgetown Cupcakes -- red velvet, coconut, lava fudge, my favorite vanilla squared -- to three local homeless shelters.   Needless to say, our reception was sweet and the recipients were thrilled.  The idea started with MoverMoms' "muffins for moms" project this year, when we bake and decorate muffins and deliver them to moms in homeless shelters on Mother's Day.  We asked Georgetown Cupcake if they would donate any cupcakes they had left over that weekend.  They did, by the dozens -- and we delivered over 400 muffins and cupcakes to moms at six shelters in DC and MD on Mother's Day weekend.   Rebecca and I were  hooked.  We've been distributing Georgetown Cupcakes to local shelters every chance we get.   Thank you Georgetown Cupcake!   Day 13: Deed 13:  Sharing the love (of cupcakes!).
