Kindness Wins!

"We believe that each one of us can make a difference, right now. We may not be able to solve all of the world's problems, but we can do something to make the life of one person a little easier, help one family feel more at home, brighten the day of someone who is feeling lonely. So let's just start. As the quote goes, 'to the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.'We don't want anyone in our community to feel like an 'other'. We are one community. We need to look after on another. We are all neighbors, no matter what our circumstance may be at a particular moment. In fact, we want to change the meaning of the word 'other'. Instead of seeing it as someone else - let's make the word an acronym; one that stands for: One Together with Humanity Equality and Respect.-- remarks by Salma Hasan Ali, Chief Inspiration Officer of KindWorks, accepting the Montgomery Serves Award for Volunteer Group of the Year (2019)
